The Beauty Of Yes

Working is ugly. It just is. Grinding away, calling strangers, making untested connections, putting in the sweat. It’s not pretty.

The relationships you nurture. The skills you patiently build. The networks you invest in. The systems you create. The ideas that never quite work. The revisions. The waiting. The prayers whispered when no one else is listening.

Most of it happens quietly.

And then...someone says something completely opposite of what you’ve been enduring.

Yes.

A customer buys the painting.

A reader orders the book.

A client reaches out.

Someone signs the contract. Writes the order. Sends the email.

On the surface, it's just a transaction. But for the person who put in the ugly work for it, it's so much more than that.

That beautiful "yes" is confirmation that the hours mattered.

It's a reminder that the seeds you planted months (or years) ago are still growing, even when you couldn't see them.

It's emotional fuel.

And what's fascinating is how often those moments arrive just when you need them most. Maybe that's coincidence. Maybe it's grace. I've learned not to spend too much time trying to explain it. I just know that there have been days when I wondered whether I should keep going, keep pushing, keep trying...and then, almost out of nowhere, someone says yes.

That one word doesn't erase the doubts.

But it quiets them.

Long enough to pick up the pen again. Long enough to open the laptop. Long enough to walk back into the fray.

If you're in a season of building something…a business, a ministry, a dream, a craft…don't underestimate the quiet work. The unseen hours are still accomplishing something, even if the results haven't caught up yet.

And when that next "yes" arrives, receive it with gratitude.

Not because it defines your worth. But because sometimes, the beauty of a single yes is exactly the encouragement you need to keep going.

If you can relate, I'd love to hear your story! What's your most beautiful YES!?
