Healing Power of Music
HPM is the Charitable performing arm for RFM Music and works with area artists, placing them in area hospitals where they perform free, acoustic concerts for either individuals or groups. The healing power of music is vast, wonderful, and as we know, untapped. Music has the ability to change a person's thinking as well as their physiology. Become a part of HPM today by following the link. Join as an artist, add yourself as a friend and buy a tee shirt (sporting the HPM logo) and help support the cause financially. Remember...never underestimate the power of a song!
Athens Dust Bowl Collective
Most folks know about the ongoing and worsening drought situation here in GA. Lest we forget, Woody Guthrie immortalized the dust bowl by writing songs about the people and times in that era. A number of Athens’ musicians are getting together to perform Woody’s songs (and others) for a Dust Bowl Benefit November 27, at the world-famous 40-Watt Club. We’ll be raising awareness, promoting water conservation and raising funds and support to assist families with water conservation products. Sponsors include the Georgia River Network and REM. Check out info, sponsors, musicians and more by going to our growing web site: The Athens Dust Bowl Benefit. Come if you can. Send a message of encouragement if you can’t.
Armed Forces Entertainment
VH1 - Save The Music Foundation
VH1 Save The Music purchases new musical instruments to restore music education programs that have been cut due to budget reductions in the past or to save programs at risk of elimination due to lack of instruments. The Foundation also conducts awareness campaigns, musical instrument drives and fundraising events. This is a program I believe in, wholeheartedly. Please check it out and get involved.
Music That Heals
A truly remarkable organization based out of NY. They provide musical entertainment to seriously ill and culturally denied children. This is a cause that I passionately support. Please visit them online and make a donation. Money well-spent!
Acoustic Outreach
This was the first organization that I got involved with. AO is a GA based org that does a number of things, one of which is help artists find creative ways to help young people enjoy live music who may not otherwise have the chance. It's wonderful. Check this out and step up to the plate...do your part and get involved with these folks.
Healing Music Enterprises
Headed by Dr. Alice Cash, an online home for healing music products, books, tapes, CDs articles.

People Who Help Ricky Crank Out the Tunes

Olive Tree Bible Software

Olive Tree Bible Software logoOne of the first apps I downloaded when I got my iPhone was Olive Tree Bible Software's BibleReader. It’s free and vast, works on virtually any device and does everything I need it to do. It’s loaded with research resources, devotionals, eBooks, commentaries, Strong’s numbering and over 100 different translations and languages. I rarely even carry a physical bible anymore because my Olive Tree is so convenient for me.

OTBS has been around for nearly 30 years and is now one of the leading, most respected Bible app providers in the world. It’s my privilege to be a partner with Olive Tree in connecting people with God and the Bible. Check them out if you’re looking to add a fantastic Bible app for your home or mobile studies and reading.

The Georgia Jukebox Podcast
A GA-only artist online station, The GA Jukebox features Ricky in regular rotation and this particular link takes you to a FREE podcast containing Ricky, Brantley Gilbert, Blackberry Smoke, Carter Corn and more!
Radium Recording
Radium Recording is the first place I recorded and where I record all my music now. Without a doubt, my favorite place of all the studios I've been associated with. Chris Bishop runs the show in the most laid back of atmospheres. Definatey the place to go for the budget conscious musician who wants very, very top notch stuff. Chris is awesome.

Taresa Sibcy - Photographer
I met Taresa through Cretia. Turns out she was in the process of establishing herself as a professional photographer. I've always been a little uneasy about having my picture taken, but Taresa was good...relaxing. And as it turns out, her pictures were awesome. I'll never use anybody else. If you like her shots and want to see about how long the wait may be to have her do a session with you, let check her site out. Trust me, this will be time and money very, VERY well spent.
Deborah O'Toole
Deborah O'Toole is the author of Passion Forsaken, Larkin and Fall of the Curtain. These three books are part of the Larkin Saga, a family chronicle set in Maine and covering a span of more than one hundred years. She has also written several short stories for children, including Foofer & The Ham Bone; Foofer Goes East; Foofer & St. Nick; Foofer, the Pooka & St. Patrick; Foofer Gets Groomed; Foofer Moves Northwest; Foofer & the Magic Mischa; Foofer & the Cat Burglar; Foofer Meets the Puffins; and Foofer & the Ghastly Ghost.

I have been associated with the Muse for at least five years now. They are, in my opinion, THE songwriter resource on the web. I love the site and the interaction. I've met some other writers who have actually become good friends from all over the country. Check it out as I'll be resurfacing as a Regular Columnist, passing out pearls of wisdom to other musicians about how to market yourself as a musician. Hope to see you there!
Midnight Iguana Tattooing, Inc
When I went to get my ears re-pierced, the obvious choice was to head down to Athens to the best of the best of the best. Midnight Iguana was the obvious choice. They are the greatest, I shit you not. Absolutely pain free...ok...it hurt like hell. But everyone was very cool and extremely promessional. Git on down there for ALL your tattoo and piercing needs. You'll thank me.
