From the recording Greater Still (unplugged)

Up late the other night, laying down this unplugged draft of a new song, Greater Still. Nothing fancy, but quite literally, just me and the guitar in front of the mic and letting it fly.
This is one of the big reasons why I have such a love for music and songwriting...it's so real and intense when it's simple and personal. Love it. :)
More elaborate studio work coming on this...just because I like it so much. (I can dig my own song, can't I?) It's not just fun to play, but it's exactly the song I need to sing, lyrically, to remind me that at the end of the day...after all my complaining...God is bigger than my problems. Period. Every single time.
I hope you enjoy and find hope and joy when you hear and sing it!

Lyrics

Greater Still V1After the dust has settled,After the smoke has cleared,After my tribulation,After the hurt and fear,He is unchanging. My God is unfailing. V2The mountain high above me,The canyons far below. The storms of life may rage,The winds of change may blow. But He will not waver,My blessed Savior. ChorusNothing can remove meFrom His powerful embrace.I am grounded in the knowledgeOf His never ending Grace.I will not be turned asideFrom the center of His will.Though the enemy is great…My God is greater, still. V3Even in misery,Even in hopelessness,He will not turn away.My God will not forgetHis word and His promise. He will not fail us. ChorusNothing can remove meFrom His powerful embrace.I am grounded in the knowledgeOf His never ending Grace.I will not be turned asideFrom the center of His will.Though the enemy is great…My God is greater, still. Bridge (2X)Tomorrow, today and forever…He will remain forever.Great and greatly to be praised,Forever…Tomorrow, today and forever…He will remain forever.Great and greatly to be praised,Forever… ChorusNothing can remove meFrom His powerful embrace.I am grounded in the knowledgeOf His never ending Grace.I will not be turned asideFrom the center of His will.Though the enemy is great…My God is greater, still.  Words & Music by Ricky Fitzpatrick.
