From the recording Redeemed (C-S Worship)

In addition to the "official" recordings that the church does for CDs and podcasts, I also usually record our Worship In Prayer and Worship In Song portions of each week's service at Corner-Stone. Typically, I just grab them on my iPhone, left to pickup what it can, from the front row.
I always like spending the afternoon, listening back over our music and seeing what went right, where we could improve, reliving points of emotion or intensity. This recording reflects one of those particularly moving moments for the C-S congregation, with everyone joined in a passionate worship, as we prepared to dismiss. So glad we captured the audio!
Obviously, this is our rendition of Big Daddy Weave's "Redeemed", a C-S favorite, and rightly so. I'm leading the worship here. Matt Knebel is doing a fantastic job on the piano. And Sherry Grant and Bob Vivenzio are handling the Praise Team background vocals. Everyone did exactly what needed to be done to create an atmosphere of worship, in just the right manner, at just the right time. And all this came on the heels of a sermon that covered "simple obedience". Wow. All the pistons were firing. :)
There's actually much, much more to this, with our Pastor, Darrel Rewis praying out of a remarkable sermon, and our Youth Director, Jeff Grant bringing it all home with a scripture and encouraging word. Well worth checking out over at www.Corner-Stone.org, where the audio or podcast should be posted (soon, if not already).
Or, you can join us in person at Corner-Stone, Sunday mornings at 10:30 (worship starts at 11:00). Come be a part of things with us!

Lyrics

---------------------------------Redeemed V1Seems like all I could see was the struggle,Haunted by ghosts that lived in my past,Bound up in shackles of all my failures,Wondering how long is this gonna last. Then You look at this prisoner and say to me "son,Stop fighting a fight. It's already been won."CHORUSI am redeemed. You set me free.So I'll shake off these heavy chainsAnd wipe away every stain. Now I'm not who I used to be.I am redeemed. V2All my life I have been called unworthy,Named by the voice of my shame and regret. But when I hear You whisper, "Child lift up your head",I remember, oh God, You're not done with me yet!CHORUS 2I am redeemed, You set me free.So I'll shake off these heavy chainsWipe away every stain. Now I'm not who I used to be…BRIDGEBecause, I don't have to be the old man inside of me,'Cause his day is long dead and gone.Because, I've got a new name, a new life. I'm not the same. And a hope that will carry me home.CHORUS 2I am redeemed, You set me free.So I'll shake off these heavy chainsWipe away every stain. Now I'm not who I used to be…CHORUS 3I am redeemed. You set me free.So I'll shake off these heavy chainsWipe every stain. No I'm not who I used to be.O God, I'm not who I used to be.Jesus, I'm not who I used to be…I am redeemed.I am redeemed.TAGThank God, redeemed.
